I've grown up chasing the outdoor lifestyle - surrounding myself with wild mountains and crystal clear lakes, chasing winters between countries and stacking up as many days as possible on my snowboard and mountain bike.
From Canada to New Zealand
In the New Zealand summer of 2018 my partner and I decided to put our suitcases and snowboard travel bags aside and settle more permanently in a small central North Island town located at the base of the stunning Mount Ruapehu. Living year round in Ohakune has gifted me the opportunity to get back into being creative by spending time crafting and growing a sustainable backyard garden and building our own greenhouse.
The JMC adventure began in 2021 and I am excited to share with you my collection of handcrafted decorative concrete pieces. Every decorative concrete piece is handmade by myself at home in Ohakune. I pour each piece individually in small batches and love to create pieces with unique color-ways and patterns, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly the same!
I love creating pieces that bring back memories of outdoor adventures
through snowy mountain tops, summer hikes and swims, and all of those dreamy sunrises and sunsets experienced. You will find the variety of colors I choose to use are inspired by natural, earthy tones and pastel colors that are often seen throughout our wild landscapes and dancing amongst the sky!
My small business of crafting decorative concrete plant pots and concrete homeware pieces is a 'second fun-time job' that I do along with volunteering time with our local Ruapehu Mountain Bike Club and Uenuku Pines MTB Park! I also work full time at TCB Ski Board and Bike Shop! I look forward to seeing you around town, at markets, on snow at Turoa Ski Area or riding one of the many local mountain bike trails!
